🔮 IGM 2021 Assignment 4 - Personal Free Form Project

As a desi animator and novice game developer, I want to make my mark within the industry by creating stories based on my background and culture. Growing up and consume media, I was never met with representation, and with my upcoming projects, hope to change that for others.

This text-driven video game is simple and only touches the surface of the culture and expectations enforced on younger generations. This depiction isn't perfect nor a reflection of a group as a whole. I take from my own experiences and bits and pieces of others around me such as friends and even support groups. Some are good, bad and there are those who push back or accept it. I try not to be biased in certain decisions others make, but I cannot deny that there are pressure and competition even amongst immediate family members. The pressure to look good and live for others' sake is rampant and I wish to shed light on this.

This game was created using Fungus, a program I had to learn alongside the completion of this short project deadline. Admittedly, I'm not too proud of the outcome of this game, regarding art, direction, story, and narration. In the near future, I would like to revisit this project and tweak it to be a true reflection of my vision
